Following a strict tendering process, Portakabin was chosen to supply a total of 49 buildings from its anti-vandal range – tough, secure, galvanised steel buildings designed specifically for the most exposed and demanding sites.

Dave Carson, Technical Services Manager at UOMS, explains how the process worked for them: “In the lead-in to the overhaul, power station staff were busy preparing for the maintenance works whilst still operating the plant, so disruption to operations and drawing on staff resources were not an option. Having Portakabin come in and provide full site services and total project management, including design, helped us greatly.

”Accommodation included open-plan office space, partitioned offices, meeting rooms, storage, canteen, plus accommodation unit, shower unit, toilet/wash units, changing/drying rooms, and a computer based training room with furniture and appliances.

Dave continues: “The quality and size of all products met with our requirements, along with the provision of additional materials such as furniture and electrical appliances, and the utility services such as electrical connections and plumbing.““I’d like to thank Portakabin for the professional way in which the team managed and implemented the recent outage cabin contract here.
