Requirements
Huntstown power station near Dublin required a temporary contractors’ village for up to 300 staff for the duration of its scheduled maintenance shut down.
Safety is always a primary focus at Huntstown but this requirement came with the added challenges of providing a solution that allowed staff to comply with COVID-19 regulations, but also for the timely installation of the buildings while adhering to the regulations.

Solution
The temporary village had to ensure that staff could be kept as safe as possible during the annual outage so the building layouts were specially designed to adhere to the distancing and people-flow restrictions of COVID-19 regulations.
Portakabin operates under strict compliance guidelines itself, which adds to the challenges involved during installation. However, the welfare facilities and offices were provided on time and incorporated one-way systems and screens to allow staff to work safely while the essential work was underway.
These have been challenging times for everyone but we knew we could rely on the professionalism of Portakabin to deliver the contractor’s village, even under the present restrictions. The facilities allow us to be COVID-19 compliant and keep our staff as safe as possible.
