From planning permission applications through to a full-service building design, Portakabin can manage every stage with its team of in-house experts.
As specialists in building design and construction, the team recognises every project is different and requires a dedicated approach by fully qualified industry professionals to guide clients through the most complex of projects.
Planning permission can take up to 12 weeks
As planning permission can take up to 12 weeks, the earlier you can engage with us and begin your project, the better.
Helping you meet the regulations
Following a one-to-one site visit, the team will assess your requirements with our specialist modular architects in order to create a bespoke modular solution. This full-service approach ensures best practice and compliance with all relevant Building Regulations, sector specific Building & Technical Standards and handles all Local Authority Planning and Building Regulations Submissions, if required.
We can provide architects or work with yours
Portakabin can assist your architects and design consultants through the RIBA Plan of Work collaboratively, using existing or conceptual drawings to maximise the benefits of standardisation and construction efficiency.
Project Engineers then undertake site surveys and arrange ground investigations and topographical surveys to ensure that designs are correct and suitable for the conditions and to check foundation installations for suitability.
Dynamic thermal modelling to aid compliance
Designs will be fully compliant with building regulations, with particular reference to Part L2 and in accordance with CIBSE Design Guides. Dynamic thermal modelling software is used to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, provide a baseline services strategy and to provide the appropriate certification. Our in-house Building Physicist can verify building designs and installation as well as providing Energy Performance Certificates.
Modular architecture – future-proof designs
We design our buildings so they are future-proofed for any potential changes in layout, size or usage.
The Portakabin team were very good listeners; they designed and built the office to the specification that we needed. I was fully informed at all stages on timelines (which were met).
