Market leading modular building expert Portakabin has put the design and construction industry centre stage in a national review on diversity and inclusion in the UK workplace.
One of only 79 top UK employers who volunteered to take part in the McKenzie-Delis Packer (MPD) Review, which aims to inform Government and business, Portakabin is included the inaugural report.
We were delighted to add our voice to this important review and share a commitment to making tangible and continued improvements to drive more diversity and inclusion across our business
“Being part of the McKenzie-Delis Packer Review enabled us to discuss the issues, obstacles, opportunities and best practice with leading UK employers from a wide variety of industries, giving us access to some inspiring ideas across recruitment, leadership and culture in the workplace.
“As a representative of the dynamic and thriving design and construction industry, we know there are incredible opportunities for young people from every background, but there is still a substantial amount of work to be done to ensure that we are seen as a sector which embraces diversity and a sense of belonging for people across many areas including race, ethnicity, age and gender.
“We have an enormous responsibility to improve our workplace policies and practices and we want to use our position within the market to make a positive impact and open up avenues to everyone to consider a future career in our industry.”
Portakabin played a vital role in our Review, giving a voice to one of the UK’s most well-established and thriving industry sectors. We are delighted that so many big names stepped forward to be involved and over the coming years we aim to track how thousands of UK companies are performing.
