Why hire from portakabinHaving previously worked together to deliver a storage complex and facing the urgent need for an extension to its existing facilities, the company approached Portakabin to come up with a solution. The new space needed to integrate with the existing facilities and, as well as laboratory and workshop space, needed to provide office and welfare space for 59 staff over a three-year period.
Due to the site being in a flood zone, the two storey complex, installed in three months, was built on stilts and made up of 60 Alta modules. The ground-floor provided a laboratory and workshop space, with 500kg/m2 floor resistance
to facilitate the use of heavy equipment. The first floor was designed to provide high-spec open plan office space with room for 59 desks, large openings to provide natural light and enhanced noise reduction features.
With a proven track record of working with Portakabin, we were confident that they could deliver on our expectations and within the limited time we had. That faith proved correct and watching them craning into place 60 units in just five days was impressive work.
