Pharmacy Services Manager, Andrew Moonesinghe, says: “We turned to Portakabin because of our past experience of hiring its buildings. Everyone worked closely together to make sure every aspect of the project ran smoothly and was completed on time.”

The pharmacy team took a fresh overview of staff and patient needs in designing the building, creating a facility that precisely suited the way they worked. Portakabin used these plans to devise a spacious, 700m², two-storey building for the Trust to hire. It incorporated offices on the upper floor and a secure dispensary and clinical area on the ground floor, complete with patient waiting area and consulting room.

Specialists from different areas of the business consulted the pharmacy team to understand their requirements and deliver the specially adapted facilities they needed. These included an advanced security system with CCTV, access-control and panic alarms, and a high-performance climate-control system to maintain the constant temperature required for optimum storage of pharmaceuticals.

Andrew adds: “The 38 staff who work in the building are delighted with it. The way it has been designed around their needs makes it a pleasure to work in.”
