The Requirements
Cherry Tree Nursery was spread over three separate locations at Dalmilling Primary School including a stand-alone nursery building, a converted classroom within the primary school and the Harthall Building, a former caretaker’s house. South Aryshire Council wanted to consolidate its nursery within one new, state-of-the-art building capable of providing 140 places. The facility was required as soon as possible, with a target date of August for completion and operation of the new nursery. -
The Solution
Portakabin was able to deliver a fully turnkey and 100% permanent building to South Ayrshire Council. With more than 30 operatives on site at any given time, the Modular Nursery was installed and handed over in less than four months. A priority project for the Council, the nursery is now housed under one roof. It is a purpose built and custom-designed learning facility to support the expansion provision for early learning and childcare to 1140 hours in South Ayrshire by 2020. Outdoor play space can be accessed directly from the children’s playrooms creating a positive learning environment for the children.
Portakabin provided a modern, bright, spacious nursery with a beautifully landscaped play space that children can access directly from their playrooms. The new facility has been very well received by pupils, staff, parents and the wider community. The new nursery exceeds our expectations, delivered excellent value for money and was delivered to a very challenging timescale.
