Project roles
You can work in a number of project-related roles at Portakabin.
Our project teams take responsibility for each project after an order is received, from order clarification through to handover of projects. It involves careful planning and management to ensure all necessary measures are taken for works to be carried out in a safe manner, whilst providing effective programme and cost control at all times.
In all our project roles there is a significant level of communication involved – you could be liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors or working with relevant central departments to monitor budgets and schedules. Or you could be supporting the site-based teams organising logistics, managing welfare requirements or monitoring health and safety standards.
Some work will be site based and some office – but whether it’s an administrative task or you’re compiling and reporting on financial and statistical data, you will implement project delivery best practice from across Portakabin and the wider industry.
The projects we deliver vary greatly in scale. There can be small, single, stand-alone buildings that require minimal customisation right up to bespoke multi-storey office blocks and hospitals with highly technical specifications. Each and every project receives the same attention to detail from a dedicated project team to ensure we are consistently delivering on time and on budget.
As Head of Project Delivery it's a privilege working with such a fantastic team to deliver building solutions that make a real difference for our customers. Working across our key market sectors provides real variety as many of our projects are bespoke and unique to meet a particular need. In my 30 years with Portakabin I have been fortunate to have developed my career through a number of challenging roles, supported throughout with development opportunities which included obtaining a degree and chartered status.
